My dog, Shadow, is my inspiration for the dog, Harry, that Jackson gives to Scarlett in my book, Sunrise Kisses. Shadow is a Havanese Bichon, and he's a joyful part of our family. He just turned 14 and only has four teeth left, but that doesn't stop him from eating his favorite snack, bacon. In my book, I let Scarlett's son, Tyler, name this dog Harry after his favorite book character, Harry Potter. I'm a big fan of those books and movies, so I couldn't resist. One of the funniest things Shadow does is when he runs, he sort of hops his back legs like a bunny. It's so cute. He's very loving and loves to take walks.
