Welcome, romance lovers...

Hey there!  Welcome to my world, my escape from reality.  I'm the author of the historical romance Wellington Cross series, the paranormal romance Angel series, and the new historical romance Wellington Patriot series.

Happy April!  Spring is in full swing here in Virginia!  The tulips and cherry blossoms are blooming right now, and the azaleas are starting.  I love spring!  Everything comes alive again, if you are lucky enough to have the change of the seasons.

Treasured Dreams, book four in my Angel series, is Now Available on Amazon!  My ARC readers have read it and written their reviews, which you can read on Amazon.  In this book you will learn what happened to that Wellington Cross Plantation and watch the family (cousins Jen and Sarah and others) try to get their hands on it.  I am also introducing a new couple to you that I have thoroughly enjoyed writing about:  Courtney and Owen.  Courtney is a veterinarian, and Owen is a former Navy SEAL-turned-cowboy.  You can read more about the book here and also read about the other books in the Angel series.  I am currently working on book 5 in this series.  More details to come.

Treasured Dreams

(Book Four in the Angel Series)

It’s been six years since Jen and Luke moved into the big house in the country that they inherited from Scarlett, along with taking care of Tyler.  Luke’s daughter Cassie gets a new job, along with her daughter Arielle, at a local veterinary hospital, where they all get to know Dr. Courtney Beck, one of the vets.  Luke has been playing weekends at a local brewery, but a series of events leads him to believe that he is being stalked, perhaps by a crazed fan.  But which one?  There are at least three possibilities.

Sarah and Jason have been tending to their horses and their bed and breakfast, but when Jason finds out that the Wellington family’s plantation is up for sale, they start rethinking their future.  Both of them, along with Jen and Luke, talk with the homeowners about possibly purchasing Wellington Cross, but they are met with some resistance by a cousin who has popped up in town with her own plans for the plantation.

Dr. Courtney Beck meets an irritatingly handsome ex-Navy SEAL, now cowboy, Owen Carson.  She is attracted to him, though she fights hard not to be.  She has a secret that she hasn’t told anyone, and is the main reason that she doesn’t trust men.  Owen starts wearing down her resistance, however, in the process of fixing up a ranch to raise cattle on.  Just when her heart opens a small crack, a surprising visitor shows up at his ranch, threatening any sort of happiness for either of them.

About Me

I was born and raised in Johnson City, Tennessee, and went to college at East Tennessee State University before marrying my high school sweetheart and moving to Virginia Beach, Virginia. I started writing as a hobby when I was in college after purchasing a couple of Southern Heritage cookbooks, which were filled with pages of beautiful old plantation homes. I used to sit outside in my backyard and type on a manual typewriter at a picnic table under tall maple trees.  I continued writing after moving to Virginia Beach and visiting beautifully restored homes in Williamsburg as well as plantations on the James River. My day job is a court reporter now, while writing on the side.  I self-published my first book in December 2012, Wellington Cross.  I enjoy the freedom and creativity of self-publishing.  My book, Sunrise Kisses, was a finalist in the 2018 Golden Quill Award Contest sponsored by Golden Box Books Publishing.  I love being outside in nature and enjoy visiting historical homes and gardens, reading, traveling, gardening, taking walks, doing yoga, and spending time with family and friends.  I am still married to my sweetheart after 35 years, and we have one son.  If you'd like to read an interview of me by AllAuthor, click here

My Books

First of all, I love writing about romance.  To me, the best stories are about love and relationships.  So that's what I write about.  I have three series of books so far.  The first series I have published is the Wellington Cross Series, which is set in the late 1800s on plantations along the James River in Virginia.  The second series I have written is the Angel Series, which is set in modern times in Virginia Beach about angels and their interactions with humans.  My newest series is the Wellington Patriot Series, which takes place in the late 1700s during the time of the American Revolution.

I live in Virginia Beach and I like writing about this area.  I've been living here for 34 years now and I love it.  There is so much to do close by.  There are miles and miles of beautiful beaches, sand dunes, trails, and many bodies of water:  the ocean, the bay, and many rivers, canals, and man-made lakes.  Also nearby are Colonial Williamsburg and the James River Plantations, which inspired me to write historical novels.  I have toured many historical plantations and homes, and they help me to picture stories in my head so I can then write it down.

All of my books are available on Kindle through Amazon and also in paperback through Amazon and Barnes & Noble (by order).  Amazon has a special - if you order the paperback version through them, you get the Kindle version for FREE!  I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them.
